Make a donation

As an all-volunteer group, Seal Sitters MMSN depends on donations to help defray our costs of operation. These include a year-round dedicated phone hotline enabling the public to alert us to marine mammals on the beach, training expenses and educational activities and materials, related website and blog costs, and supplies that volunteers use to protect marine mammals (tape, construction cones, stakes, etc).

Additionally, our current fundraising focus is to help fund lab costs for tissue and blood samples of necropsied seal pups. With drastic cutbacks in Federal grants for critical marine mammal research, this additional funding will help biologists determine cause of death, identify emerging diseases and monitor the overall health of Puget Sound harbor seal populations. Lab tests average $250 per seal pup. Your donation will help biologists get answers to important questions regarding mortality in harbor seal pups.

We receive no funding from NOAA, the State or City of Seattle for the work we do.

Your donation to Seal Sitters is tax-deductible. Our fiscal sponsor, Associated Recreation Council (ARC), is a registered 501(c)(3) and can accept donations on our behalf.
